92 points Robert Parker: "The 2010 Chardonnay La Carriere was made from a combination of Dijon and Hyde clones. Bursting with honeysuckle, lemon oil, white peach and wet stone characteristics, this full-bodied, rich white possesses great acidity as well as a more backward, austere character than the other two vintages. Something I have noticed with a number of the 2010 Chardonnays is that they have a structural component that should make them very long-lived. This beauty reveals plenty of concentration, so enjoy it over the next decade. (Dec 2013)"
92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Peter Michael's 2010 Chardonnay La Carriere is an intense, focused wine. Lemon oil, butter, vanillin, nectarine and spices all flesh out in the glass. Once again, the Carriere is distinguished by is underlying stoniness and minerality. Stylistically, the 2010 is creamy, textured and very nicely balanced throughout. (Jul 2013)"
91 points Wine Spectator: "A creamy Chardonnay, displaying intense, complex flavors of rich hazelnut, fig, melon and smoky oak, this is full-blown and-as of now-rustic and chewy. Give this some time, the texture should soften. 7/31/12)"
Producer notes: "Framed with aromas of crushed stone, terroir-driven minerality remains the signature of this vineyard. Notes of lily, hazelnut and sweet pear accented by mandarin orange, acacia, honey and vanilla complete the elegant bouquet. Citrus oils, white peach and lemon highlight the minerality. The magnificent concentration and elegance on the palate sculpt the structure of this wine. Its bright acidity and minerality will allow it to age for two decades, much like its Burgundian cousins from Puligny-Montrachet. 100% barrel fermented in French oak from artisan coopers Barrel aged sur lies 11 months with weekly bâtonnage Bottled unfined and unfiltered February 1, 2012. Alcohol: 15.2%."
