93 points (16.5/20) La Revue du Vin de France (Jan 2022).

92 points Falstaff: "Initially reductive on the nose, slightly leaky, almond, needs plenty of air but then opens up nicely. Balanced, neat palate, medium-bodied, lots of juiciness and sweet fruit, balanced by ripe acidity that becomes more concentrated on the finish. Present tactile minerality, a Chablis tout-court with power, density, and good length. (Mar 2022)"

90 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "Bottled in March 2021, the 2018 Chablis Vent d’Ange is quite open and intense on the nose, offering yellow plum and light nectarine scents, well defined though not the most complex aromatics that I have encountered from Pico. The focused palate shows a touch of sour lemon on the entry and good depth. Leesy and noticeably peppery toward the finish, with a tang of ginger enlivening the aftertaste. Very distinctive, as usual. This should drink well for a decade or more. Drink: 2022-2032. (Oct 2021)"

'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(the cuvée name is a play on words as it literally translates to Angel's Wind or Breeze but when pronounced, it sounds like the French word for the harvest, vendange; there are several bottlings of this wine and this is from February 2021 and is marked as such on the back label). Ripe aromas of both white and yellow orchard fruit, in particular apricot and peach, offer moderate Chablis typicity that include nuances of brine and algae. There is excellent volume to the saline-inflected flavors that deliver fine length on the balanced finale. This is very good for its level and worth a look. Drink: 2024+. (Oct 2021)"

Thomas Pico's naturally-farmed and -produced wines are the essence of “Chablis”, but not only in their briny minerality. There is a sense of vitality to the wines, and a textured density that can only come from dedicated work in the vineyards and transparent winemaking.
