92-94 points Essi Avellan, MW: "(100% Pinot Noir). The latest additon to the Bruno Paillard range is a blanc de noirs from four grands crus of the Montagne de Reims: Verzenay, Mailly, Verzy and Bouzy. The house style already being rich and vinous, the propotion of oak-vinified wines is kept moderate for this cuvée. For this 2018 based blend reserve wines represent 24%. Appealing nose with spicy pencil shavings and biscuity tones with plentiful apple and cherry fruit. Delightfully vibrant on the expressive, silky-flowing palate of length and intensity. An intriguing blanc de noirs with energy, elegance and personality. November 2022 disgorgement tasted. (Aug 2023)"
93 points Yohan Castaing (Wine Advocate): "Disgorged in November 2022 with three grams per liter dosage, Bruno Paillard’s NV Extra-Brut Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru is showing brilliantly, revealing a delicate, perfumed bouquet with aromas of red berries, spring flowers, pepper and grapefruit, followed by a moderately weighted, incisive palate that’s vinous and taut with an intense core of fruit. Saline and chalky, the finish is ethereal and lingering. Based on the 2018 vintage, with 12.5% reserve wines, it’s crafted from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from four villages (Verzenay, Mailly, Verzy and Bouzy) and was vinified in 20% oak barrels. Drink: 2023-2033. (Nov 2023)"
93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The new release of Bruno Paillard Blanc de Noirs non-vintage Extra Brut is from the base year of 2018 and composed entirely from pinot noir. The grapes for this bottling hailed solely from the grand cru villages of Verzy, Verzenay, Mailly and Bouzy on the eastern and southeastern flank of the Montagne de Reims. The reserve wines in the blend are from a perpetual cuvée that Alice Paillard created for this bottling in 2015. Just under a quarter of the vins clairs are barrel-fermented for this wine, with none of the casks new wood. It was disgorged in November of 2022, after three and a half years aging on its fine lees. It was finished with a dosage of three grams per liter. The wine’s bouquet is vibrant and nascently complex, offering up scents of white peach, apple, bread dough, a touch of pink grapefruit, dried flowers, chalky minerality and a topnote of lemon zest. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and youthfully brisk, with a superb core of fruit, lovely mineral undertow, elegant mousse and a long, complex and impeccably balanced finish. This is still a young wine, and though it is so well balanced that it is highly enjoyable to drink today, it is still a puppy and another three to five years of aging in the cellar will be highly profitable! 2024-2060. (May/Jun 2024)"
93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The NV (2019) Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs is captivating right out of the gate. Soft contours wrap around a core of kirsch, red cherry, mint, spice, dried flowers and light pastry notes. Pretty floral and mineral accents resonate on the sculpted finish. The fruit for this bottling comes from Verzenay, Verzy, Mailly and Bouzy, based on the 2019 vintage, with 12.5% reserve wines blended in. Disgorged: June 2023. Drink: 2024-2035. (Dec 2024)"
93 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$119 list] From four grand cru villages around the Montagne de Reims, this Champagne has a toasty aroma and a rich, structured style. While dry, it is also rich and full, the wine's fruit now softened with some bottle age. Drink now. Alcohol 12%. (May 2025)"
93 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide (2025).
92 points Claire Nesbitt (JamesSuckling.com): "This is a fresh and focused blanc de noirs with aromas of croissants, walnuts, peaches and white strawberries. Sleek and elegant on the palate, lightly nutty, with fine bubbles and a dry finish. Drink now. (5/31/24)"
