96 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "What a pleasure it is to taste and drink the 1994 Opus One. Far better than a bottle I had last year, this bottle is absolutely terrific. Voluptuous, sexy and layered to the core, the 1994 races across the palate with superb depth and pure class. Drink: 2014-2024. (Oct 2014)"

96 points Howard Kaplan (International Wine Cellar): "Fairly deep color. Very attractive bouquet gets us excited as it's an elegant, reserved, clean and pure style. It's spicy, with dark berries and a dominant milk chocolate scent. Equally wonderful in the mouth, and the most French-influenced wine in the tasting, which satisfied the Francophiles in attendance. There's a little bit of sauvage character and the remnants of oak barrels. The acidity is excellent. Very long, briney, seaweed finish. An awesome showing for this wine. The brown bag never lies! (May 2014)"

95 points Jane Anson (Decanter): "Deep and rich dark ruby in colour, clear liquorice and crushed black olive notes. A long cool growing season (the longest in a decade, after an early budbreak but cool summer and extended hang time), and they took advantage of the rich, elongated tannins by going with a full 43 days skin contact. 1% Malbec completes the blend, first time that this grape has been present in the blend, and it gives its customary spice even at this tiny amount. Drinking Window: 2019-2034. (Sep 2019)"
