88 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "The old L’Anjouée cuvée has evolved, taking in a broader range of varieties, with a corresponding move into the Vin de France category. This is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grolleau, Gamay and Pineau d’Aunis, the first two destemmed, the others vinified in whole bunches. The vinification included just a short infusion, the intention being to make a light wine for drinking early. It was bottled just two weeks before my tasting. The nose is filled with pretty scents of rose petals and redcurrant, while the palate feels fresh and bright, supple with a floral perfume reminiscent of red roses, with a light texture and a delicate extract. For current drinking. (Mar 2022)"

87 points Rebecca Gibb (Vinous): "The recently bottled 2021 L'Enjouée, a Cabernet-led blend, is spicy, black fruited and full of spirit. It skips along like a pixie with its floral lift, light body and crunchy acidity. The low level of textured tannins gives a little grippy fuzz. For youthful drinking. Drink: 2022-2026. (Jun 2022)"

Producer notes: "2/3 of the domaine's harvest was lost during the catastrophic frost on April 13th. The domaine, thus, purchased organic Grolleau and Cabernet Franc from grower friends in the region who were less impacted in order to complete this cuvée. Vinification: Whole bunch, semi-carbonic maceration for the Gamay and Pineau d'Aunis (6 days). De-stemmed, 6-day infusion for the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grolleau. 'Enjouée' means playful or joyful, a perfect descriptor for this vibrant, fresh wine. Vincent and Emmanuel Ogereau both play the tuba, thus the nod to their preferred instrument on the label. This cuvée used to be called 'L'Anjouée Rouge,' when the blend consisted only of Anjou's AOP-allowed varieties. As of the 2019 vintage, this wine is a Vin de France due to the inclusion of other local varieties that are not allowed by the official AOP."
