96 points & 'Cellar Selection' Wine Enthusiast: "Warm, spicy fruits and classic herbal notes greet the nose, hinting at the cru's renowned terroir. Vibrant flavors of ripe cherries, plums, and delicate floral undertones burst on the palate, showcasing the wine's impeccable balance. Silky tannins and bright acidity provide a harmonious structure, leading to a lingering, elegant finish. A true gem from a legendary cru. Drink 2025 - 2040 (Sep 2024)"

94 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "Here's an exciting new wine that officially brings Oddero to the village of Verduno. The 2020 Barolo Monvigliero has a note of sweet spice, milky white chocolate, almond cookie, redwood, iris root and candied orange peel. As far as Monvigliero goes, this expression has a slightly rustic side that gives it a distinct personality within this portfolio. The tannins are extremely polished, or "tumbled," as someone who works with rocks might say. It glides clear over the palate. Drink 2026-2038 (Apr 2024)"

94 points James Suckling: "Velvety, textural and enticing with a lovely nose of raspberries and strawberries with oregano, crushed roses and dried lavender. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and fresh acidity. Balanced and lively with plenty of succulent, racy and crunchy character at the center. Try after 2026. (Feb 2024)"

93+ points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2020 Barolo Monvigliero is a nuanced, brilliant wine. Sweet floral and spice notes are beautifully delineated. Medium in body and gracious, with lovely inner perfume, the 2020 is rather shy today. This delicate, classy Barolo needs time to be at its finest. Oddero bought this parcel in 2017 and used the fruit in their straight Barolo in vintages 2017, 2018 and 2019. Drink 2025-2040 (Jan 2024)"

93 points Kerin O'Keefe: "Showing its Monvigliero roots, this is spicy, elegant and structured. It offers aromas white pepper, camphor and pressed rose while the full-bodied palate delivers strawberry, cherry and French oak sensations of vanilla, coconut and coffee bean. Tightly knit, close-grained tannins provide the backbone. Drink 2027–2032. (Jun 2024)"
