92 points James Suckling: "There’s some lovely fresh-sage character to complement notes of blueberry compote and citrus, together with crushed violets and lavender. Medium to full body, some bright acidity, firm tannins and a bright finish. Always excellent. From organically grown grapes. Drink in 2020. (10/22/18)"
90 points Wine Spectator: "[$32 list] A lively, medium-bodied red, with bright and brambly black raspberry and boysenberry fruit and orange zest and ground white pepper notes. Lightly chewy on the herb-laced finish. Frappato and Nero d'Avola. Drink now through 2024. 2,000 cases imported. (2/28/19)"
Importer notes: "70% Frappato/30% Nero d'Avola. The two varietals are native to Sicily and are grown on red sand soils over limestone rock, with vines averaging 15 years old on two different sites. Two-week maceration in concrete tanks, with pump-overs and gentle punchdowns. Bottled unfiltered. 'SP68' is a road near Arianna's Vittoria estate which lends its name to her flagship white and red. The SP68 wine is essentially Occhipinti's Cerasuolo di Vittoria, without the DOCG designation, by Arianna's choice, since she feels that its quality is not regulated strictly enough."
