94-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Bright mid purple, this is a good wine not just a good 2021 says Maxime. Mid purple, discreet but fine on the nose, with the floral juiciness of the best wines of the vintage. Really precise on the palate, light peppers behind, an increasing length as it spreads across the palate, fresh red fruit. Drink from 2028-2035. (Nov 2022)"

95 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "These are 80-year-old vines that sit on the lower portion of the slope, and they have delivered a very enticing 2021. Sappy with excellent fruit concentration, mouthwatering acidity and perky but well-placed tannins, this is packed with pomegranates, briar patch and warm spices. (2023)"

93-95 points/'Outstanding,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux Monts 2021 is a bit more backward than in previous vintages, and more light-footed. Its lovely blueberry note is quite sweet and generous, and is richer than in the other 1ers crus. A delightful treat, this will need some time to reveal its true beauty. Drink from 2030. (11/4/22)"

93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "All of the domaine’s holdings in Beaux Monts are in the lower section of the vineyard, which was perhaps a bit of an advantage when the April frosts came. The wine has turned out beautifully in 2021, but this was still a tad on the adolescent side at the time of my visit and had not yet fully absorbed its serving of new oak. But, it clearly will do so with a bit more aging and offers up a superb bouquet of cassis, black cherries, espresso, venison, dark soil tones, Vosne spices and cedary new oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and shows off excellent backend mineral drive, with a fine core of black fruit, chewy tannins and a long, tangy and complex finish. This will be excellent in due course. 2033-2085. (Nov/Dec 2022)"

93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru has a gorgeous bouquet that leaps from the glass: red cherries, wild strawberry and crushed stone scents with rose petal aromas emerging with aeration. Wonderful delineation and clever use of oak. The palate is well balanced with finely tuned tannins, perfectly judged acidity and neatly integrated oak. Good substance, rather backward on the black pepper-infused finish, but I can see this evolving well in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. Drink: 2028-2049. (Oct 2025)"
