93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Maxime Cheurlin’s 2017 Beaux Monts is also an outstanding wine in the making, but a bit more reserved in profile out of the blocks than the Petits Monts. Surprisingly, Monsieur Cheurlin used all new oak for the elevage of this wine in 2017, but the integration of new oak here is seamless and I would have guessed that this was raised in the same percentage as the Petits Monts if not told differently. The bouquet is still fairly primary, but shows enormous potential in its blend of cassis, black raspberries, venison, bitter chocolate, woodsmoke, dark soil tones and spicy oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with excellent focus and grip, ripe tannins, impeccable balance and a long, nascently complex and very promising finish. Fine, fine juice. 2027-2065. (Nov/Dec 2018)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru les Beaumonts has a fragrant bouquet with Morello cherry, ripe strawberry, overripe Satsuma and floral scents emerging with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe tannin, finely tuned acidity and a sense of energy permeating throughout. The new oak here is deftly integrated and does not impede the terroir, while the tongue tingles long after the wine has departed. Excellent. Drink: 2017-2030. (12/29/14)"

92+ points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Bright, dark red. Dark berries, graphite minerality and a spicy treble note on the nose. Densely packed but weightless; not a fleshy or silky style but boasts terrific energy to its crunchy black fruit and spice flavors. Finishes with lovely rising perfume and spicy lift. This taut, sappy wine already stimulates the taste buds but it would be a shame not to give it at least five years in the cellar. Drink: 2022-2032. (Mar 2016)"
