Smoky blueberries tumble onto the palate that finishes with a savory – almost salty – lift. Maxime was very pleased at the ripeness level these 90-year-old vines achieved in this vintage, even if they only produced half the yield they did in 2022. (2023)"

93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Maxime Cheurlin’s 2021 Boudots is also an outstanding young wine. The wine is quite black fruity in profile this year, with the nose wafting from the glass in a refined blend of black plums, sweet dark berries, gamebird, bitter chocolate, dark soil tones, bonfire, nutty new oak and a lovely topnote of fresh nutmeg. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and properly reserved out of the blocks, with an excellent core of fruit, fine-grained tannins, impeccable focus and balance, fine-grained tannins and superb mineral drive on the long, complex and classy finish.
