93 points James Suckling: "Very aromatic with sliced-mushroom, berry, and dark-bark aromas and flavors. Dark chocolate, too. Medium-bodied with integrated tannins and a savory finish. Structured, yet balanced second wine of Nenin. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. Drink after 2026. (5/18/23)"

91-93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The second wine of Château Nenin, the 2020 Fugue De Nenin checks in as 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc brought up in just 20% new French oak. It offers a dense purple/plum color as well as solid aromatics of ripe black cherries, currants, chocolate, and leafy herbs. Rich and medium to full-bodied, with plenty of mid-palate depth, this concentrated, powerful second wine will keep for 15 years. (5/23/21)"

90.5 points CellarTracker.com community score.

90 points Jane Anson (Decanter): "Deep violet colour, the fruit is kept in play by low temperature fermentation and careful extraction showcasing the seductive, silky aspect of Pomerol. Crayon and slate, set against berry fruits. Harvest September 10 (one week earlier than 2019). 20% new oak. A yield of 36hl/ha, around 25% lower than usual. 20% new oak, 3.63pH. Drinking Window: 2023-2036. (May 2021)"

90 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "This second wine is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. It opens with a perfumed nose, of red cherry, red pepper and violets. The palate has a real sense of charm and harmony, easy-going and approachable at the start, with a fine-boned grain of tannins appearing thereafter, with a firm backbone through the middle. Taut, with modest concentration, a savoury cherry character, and a real grip from the tannins beneath the rather juicy fruit, it is charming, fresh and gripped. This needs a year or so to settle down, then it should drink well, giving short- to mid-term pleasure. The alcohol is 14%. (Dec 2022)"

90 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "Bright, fresh, juicy, lifted and fruity, the wine focuses on its core of lifted, sweet, ripe red fruits, savory herbs and flowers. Drink this with pleasure while waiting for the Grand Vin to develop. (May 2021)"
