On the palate the wine is full-bodied, crisp and vibrant, with a beautiful, gentle creaminess of perfectly ripe fruit on the attack, a marvelous core, great focus and grip and a very long, energetic and long finish of seamless balance and marvelous lift. A hauntingly beautiful wine in its youth, the 205 Braune Kupp Spätlese is going to age superbly well and it would be an absolute crime to crack a bottle until it has had at least five or six years in the cellar to really start to unwind. 2021-2050. Harvested at more than 90° Oechsle, this proves gorgeously subtle and refined as only fleeting scents of bergamot, dried herbs and white peach emerge from the glass. The wine is nicely backward and elegantly light on the palate and leaves a superbly mouthwatering feel in the long finish. What a little beauty made in a delicately clean and zesty style. While already highly impressive now, we would not be surprised if it does not ultimately even exceeds our high expectations at maturity. 2025-2040. (Apr 2016)"
