92 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Full bright ruby. Classic Cabernet aromas of blackcurrant, menthol, graphite minerality, bitter chocolate, menthol and peppery herbs. Juicy, suave and fine-grained on entry, then more pliant and sweet in the middle than the nose suggests. Dark berry, dark chocolate and pepper flavors are lifted by floral and mineral notes. Not at all heavy-handed, this smooth, broad, rather generous but not overly sweet Cabernet finishes with harmonious dusty tannins and excellent perfumed length. This very nicely balanced wine is still quite youthful even if its texture and sweetness give it early appeal. My favorite wine to date from Mullan Road. (aged for 20 months in 33% new French and 6% new American oak; due to the fruit's high level of extractible tannins, this wine was gently extracted during vinification and then received two extra rackings and two extra months in barrel) Drink: 2021-2030. (Dec 2020)"
91 points and 'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "Roasted coffee bean, tar, melted butter and dark chocolate aromas are up front. An assortment of fruit and barrel flavors follow. Lightly chewy tannins back it up. The freshness is compelling. Best after 2024. Alcohol 14.1%. (Dec 2020)"
