94 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "This is the most exciting Clos de la Maréchale that I have tasted at this stage thanks to its wholesome, holistic balance. The generous black fruit intensity is encased by gently grainy tannins and brightened by a fine line of playful acidity. Forest floor and sweet chocolate bass notes add complexity on the good length. (2023)"

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The domaine’s 2021 Clos de la Maréchale is a superb wine in the making. The bouquet is pure and polished, offering up a blend of red and black cherries, nutskin, dark soil tones, bonfire, coffee bean, pigeon and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and soil-driven, with an elegant core of fruit, buried tannins, tangy acids and excellent balance and grip on the long and nascently complex finish. Fine juice. 2033-2085. (Nov/Dec 2022)"

93 points Charles Curtis MW (Decanter): "Mugnier’s nearly ten-hectare monopole at the southern extreme of Prémeaux-Prissey has suffered in recent years: hail in 2018, coulure in 2019, drought in 2020, and frost in 2021. It has produced a bit more than half a normal harvest this year, but what is left is lovely indeed, with lush, pretty aromas of raspberry with floral notes and a delicate, supple texture on the palate that is ethereal yet oddly persistent. It is far from the most structured in the portfolio but is among the most approachable. Drinking Window: 2025-2040. (4/5/22)"

90-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A light to medium purple. Mugnier elegance meets the Maréchale, so this is more in fruit than flowers after the ethereal Chambolle. There is enough depth of fruit here, both on the nose and palate, followed by a fresh finish, fruit plus acidity with also a light tannin or two. Drink from 2026-2032. (Nov 2022)."

89-91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "This too is elegant and pure if slightly more deeply pitched with its aromas of both red and dark currant laced with freshly turned earth. Once again there is excellent verve and detail to the medium weight flavors that also possess an appealing texture if not quite the same finesse on the bitter pit fruit and youthfully austere finale that is slightly more structured. Drink: 2029+. (Jan 2023)"

90+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale is more overtly structured from bottle than I perceived from barrel, unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries, cherries, vine smoke and earthy spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, taut and chalky palate that will reward some patience. Drink: 2027-2041. (1/18/24)"
