91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Delicious mid purple, lovely vibrant exciting juice, ideal ripeness. Absolutely gorgeous fresh raspberry with a certain sweetness of fruit, quite high acid. This should all come together. A bundle of energy. Excellent aftertaste. (Nov 2021)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Village offers vibrant black cherries and cranberry fruit on the nose, light loamy scents percolating through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins, lovely balance, lightly spiced but with good weight and persistence on the finish. Very promising. Drink: 2025-2042. (May 2022)"

92 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com) (2022).

91-92 points/'Fine,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Chambolle-Musigny Village 2020 matches the quality of the 2019, but with a somewhat cooler, slightly more reserved stance. It is crystal clear and transparent, with intensity and stoic ease. It’s not as sensual as the exotic 2019, but has some fine fruity and floral notes – white flowers and red fruit. This has beautiful energy which unfolds discreetly but surely in the glass. Drink from 2033. (1/28/22)"

90-92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Wafting from the glass with aromas of sweet red berries, cherries, rose petals and cassis, the 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Village is medium to full-bodied, velvety and perfumed, with a rich core of fruit, lively acids and a long, saline finish. Seamless and vibrant, it's a terrific cuvée. (Jan 2022)"

91 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from two different parcels of vines, one located in the premier cru Les Plantes, which was planted in 1968 and the second from the villages-level portion of La Combe d'Orveau, 60% of which is young vines, and the remainder is 40+ year old vines; the split is about 55% La Combe d'Orveau and 45% Les Plantes). Pretty and very fresh aromas include those of both ripe red and dark pinot fruit laced with a variety of spice and floral wisps. The delicious middleweight flavors exude evident salinity on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finale that really tightens up as it sits on the palate. This moderately austere effort is a lovely and understated Chambolle villages. Drink: 2028+. (Jan 2023)"

91 points Sarah Marsh, MW (The World of Fine Wine): "This pirouettes onto the palate. Light and lively. Bright and elegant. It is pure, crisp, and scented with white rose petals. The texture is feathery and silky. Lucid wine. 2025-35. (2022)"

90 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 Chambolle villages from Domaine Mugnier is a lovely bottle in the making. The bouquet is pure and black fruity in profile, offering up scents of plum, black cherries, bitter chocolate, woodsmoke, a lovely base of chalky soil tones and just a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, precise and full-bodied, with fine depth, good mineral undertow, ripe, seamless tannins and a long, tangy and focused finish. This is still quite primary and will need time to start to really show its terroir, but all of the pieces are in place for a lovely bottle in due course. 2028-2065. (Nov/Dec 2021)"
