96 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "A single, old-vine parcel of 0.6ha supplies the fruit for this celebrated expression of Chambolle-Musigny's most famous Premier Cru. There's a slight volatile lift here, but it works well in the context of the wine, which is juicy, supple and textured, with ripe strawberry and mulberry flavours, scented 25% new wood and the poise and palate length that comes with the territory. Drinking Window: 2024-2032. (10/20/18)"

95-96 points/'Outstanding,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "I adore the 2018 Les Amoureuses for its sensual, generously sweet, perfumed spiciness … this is a truly sexy wine, and this is why I drink Burgundy! The nose is so sensual and intense with its lively and cool fruit – supported perfectly by the filigreed minerality of this magnificent terroir. The fruit on the palate is beautifully balanced with great purity; the generous fruit of the vintage is the perfect companion for this intensely mineral terroir. Give this 20 years in the cellar and it will offer a symphony of complexity and hedonistic pleasure … a vin d’émotion. Drink from 2034. (11/13/19)"

95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Rich but refined, Mugnier's 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses has turned out beautifully in bottle, mingling scents of sweet red berries and plums with nuances of raw cocoa, orange rind and spices. Full-bodied, velvety and layered, it's ample and gourmand, with a fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and refined tannins. Drink: 2028-2065. (1/14/21)"

94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The bouquet of the 2018 les Amoureuses chez Mugnier is composed of a beautiful, musky perfume of red and black cherries, plums, violets, chalky soil tones, gamebird and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and full, with a lovely, sappy core of fruit, lovely soil signature, ripe, seamless tannins and a long, tangy and perfectly balanced finish. This is a beautiful, beautiful wine in the making. 2033-2075. (Nov/Dec 2019)"

94 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .53 ha holding of old vines of an indeterminate age). An exuberantly spicy and floral-suffused nose combines aromas of pomegranate, dark cherry and raspberry with an exotic tea top note. The cool, pure and restrained middle weight flavors possess both excellent verve and salinity that add a sense of lift to the linear and sneaky long finish. I very much like the highly sophisticated texture and this stunner of an Amoureuses should amply repay extended keeping. Drink: 2033+. (Jan 2021)"
