95 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2008 Ruchottes-Chambertin is an utterly complete and classic example of this great grand cru. The very deep and beautiful nose offers up scents of red and black cherries, blood orange, lovely soil tones, a gentle note of the grilled meat to come, coffee, mustard seed and new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and finely etched, with a sappy core of fruit, stunning transparency, tangy acids and superb focus and balance on the very, very long and seamless finish. 2018-2050. (Jan/Feb 2011)"

95 points (17.5/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "...[2008] Ruchottes-Chambertin literally takes us on a journey with its spicy character. (2011)"

94+ points Fine Wine Review: "The Ruchottes-Chambertin is very stony and mineral in the nose, as is typical. The mouth is medium-light in weight with plenty of tension to its tightly-wound, wild, spicy fruit. This is a pure joy to drink. I’d look to 2018-2040+ for full maturity. (Issue #133; 2011)"

94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Medium bright red. Subtle, complex aromas of raspberry, underripe cherry, minerals, white pepper, rose petal, orange rind and tamarind. Silky and chewy but light on its feet, with lovely gingery acidity energizing the middle palate. Very fine, round, elegant wine with great clarity and class. The very long finish leaves behind a subtle but persistent perfume. A beauty. (Mar/Apr 2011)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2008 Ruchottes-Chambertin totally covers the palate with layers of dark, sensual fruit. This shows breathtaking harmony and fabulous balance, especially in the way it continues to blossom in the glass. The finish is vivid, textured and unforgettable. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2033. (May 2011)"

94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "Served from magnum direct from the domaine, the 2008 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a delightful nose with effervescent red berry fruit mixed with crushed stone and rose petals, hints of blood orange emerging. Fine delineation. The palate has a sappiness from start to finish, fine weight and though not the most complex Ruchottes that the Mugneret sisters have ever produced, it has an engaging pepperiness on the finish that tempts you back for another sip. Tasted at the La Paulée in Beaune. Drink: 2023-2045. (Mar 2023)"
