98 points/'Le Coup de Coeur,' La Revue du Vin de France: "Notes of graphite and violets in the ruchottes: its high maturity is perfectly matched by this framework of small, tight and juicy tannins, within which the firm and refined expression of the terroir is housed. (2022)"

96-98 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru includes 15% whole cluster fruit this year. This was very tight, almost surly on the nose following on from the Echézeaux, wet limestone suffusing the dark berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with filigreed tannins. There is an electric line of acidity here, and superb mineralité and symmetry toward a persistent finish that lingers long in the mouth. Very sweet, almost candied on the aftertaste. Just bloomin’ gorgeous. Drink: 2024-2048. (Dec 2020)"

97 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2019 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has turned out brilliantly. Soaring from the glass with scents of raspberries, peonies, blood orange, licorice, sweet spices and rose petals, it's full-bodied, layered and complete, with a velvety attack that segues into a vibrant, multidimensional mid-palate that's framed by melting tannins and succulent acids. Concluding with a long, perfumed finish, this is a sensational wine that will offer a broad drinking window thanks to the charming profile of the vintage. Drink: 2027-2067. (Jan 2022)"

97 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "From a parcel purchased from Maison Thomas-Bassot located in Ruchottes du Bas, the wine is aged in 70% new casks. With a bit of whole cluster in the fermentation, it delivers a very sensual wine with a forward, perfumed red cherry fruit character and floral aromas. There is a silky texture and great finesse, balanced by firm tannins and crisply fresh acidity. The depth of concentration unfolds fully only with time. This is a delicious wine now, but will age for decades to come. Drinking Window: 2024-2039. (Oct 2020)"

93-96 point Jasper Morris, MW: "15% whole bunch, the first to be picked and there was not enough volume to fill its usual vat: 26 hl/ha when they were expecting much more. The degree came out at 14.2%, with ripe stems. Deep imperial purple, rich chunky fruit, powerful stuff, almost takes it out of usual Ruchottes territory as it hides the latticework. Still a very good, if powerful wine. Fine quality of fruit with only a touch of heat to finish. Persistent. (Nov 2020)"

94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The very short yields in the domaine’s Ruchottes-Chambertin have created a very powerful and structured example in 2019. The bouquet is deep and quite classical in profile, offering up scents of cassis, dark berries, roasted meats, dark soil tones, espresso, bonfires and spicy new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and rock solid at the core, with tangy acids, firm tannins and excellent balance on the long and nascently complex finish. This too will need plenty of bottle age before it is ready to drink, but it will be stellar once it is mature. 2037-2100. (Jan/Feb 2022)"

94 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from 55+ year old vines; yields of 26 hl/ha in 2019). Discreet wood frames the distinctly earthy and sauvage-inflected yet perfumed and cool aromas of spicy dark berry fruit liqueur, truffle and a whiff of forest floor. The delicious velvet textured middle weight plus flavors flash plenty of minerality on the focused, intense, youthfully austere and tautly muscular finish that is even more complex and similarly structured. Patience will be required if you wish to see this lovely effort at its peak. Drink: 2034+. (Jan 2022)"
