97 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Ripe, well-structured material in the bottle, gaining strength with air, with a creamy, intense, spicy and mineral finish. Deep and concentrated, a decade of cellaring awaits. (2021)"

95-97 points Fine Wine Review: "The nose of the Ruchottes-Chambertin is typically stony and mineral. The mouth is smooth and layered with red fruits, minerality, a medium-weight body, and very good length. About 70-80% new oak here, but it doesn’t show. (4/22/19)"

96 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2017 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru is showing brilliantly from bottle, wafting from the glass with a deep and complex bouquet of wild berries, peonies, potpourri, dark chocolate, cinnamon and sweet soil tones that are even more beautifully integrated than they were when I tasted the wine from barrel last year. On the palate, it's full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a deep and multidimensional core, succulent acids and beautifully refined, powdery tannins, concluding with a long and mineral finish. This is an immensely elegant, graceful Ruchottes that has come together brilliantly. Drink: 2027-2050. (Jan 2020)"

96 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2017 Ruchottes-Chambertin from the Mugnerets is an outstanding wine, with both the nose and palate absolutely classic in profile. The stellar nose soars from the glass in a blaze of black cherries, grilled meats, dark soil tones, woodsmoke, a touch of fresh nutmeg, vanillin oak and a discreet topnote of mustard seed. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, refined and very energetic in profile, with a sappy core, great soil signature, fine-grained tannins and outstanding focus and grip on the very long, complex and perfectly balanced finish. This will be both velvety and perfumed when it is fully mature. 2029-2085. (Nov/Dec 2018)"

96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a wonderful bouquet that fulfills its potential from barrel: very well defined, precise and mineral-driven with scents of black cherry, raspberry preserve and crushed stone. The pure, medium-bodied palate offers supple tannins, a silky texture and a caressing, seductive finish that feels very tender and sustained. Superb. Drink: 2023-2048. (Jan 2020)"

95 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Clear bright mid red. A little biscuit barrel, the fruit is rather shy - as with the 2017 Echezeaux it is the palate that delivers, especially alpine strawberry, rose petals and vanilla oak. Very nicely balanced. A pure and elegant wine which will gain in stature as it matures. (Nov 2019)"
