93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "[$60 list] The NV (2023) Brut L'Esquisse is a powerful, driving wine. Dried pear, herbs, chamomile and crushed flowers lend a distinctly savory character. I especially admire the wine's energy and tension, both of which make it a fabulous choice for the dinner table. L'Esquisse is 76% Meunier and 24% Pinot Noir from Cuisles, Jonquery and Châtillon-sur-Marne, based on 2023 with 15% reserve wines. Dosage is 1+ grams per liter. Disgorged: February 6, 2025. Drink: 2025-2032. (Dec 2025)"

92 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide (2026).

90 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "Mostly from the 2022 vintage with 8% reserve wine, the NV Champagne L'Esquisse Brut is 72% Meunier and the rest Pinot Noir. A copper/straw hue, it jumps from the glass with fruity, expressive notes of wild berries, black berries, violets, and wet stone. Easygoing and approachable, this quaffer is dangerously easy-drinking, with a refreshing mousse and a juicy feel while feeling fully dry. It’s a charmer to enjoy over the next few years. Drink: 2024-2028. (12/20/24)"

Producer notes: "70% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir. The Esquisse aims to bring together the new and young plots of Champagne Moussé. Designed to be fruity and taste young, this cuvée has a large proportion of sizes which gives it great drinkability. This entrée level cuvée is fresh and young with scents of red and white fruits, floral aromas and hints of citrus. The palate unfolds with a fruity complexity of tart cherry, pomegranate, white raspberry and peach with delicate minerality. It's extremely well balanced without any heaviness and a fine creamy mousse."
