91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "ery ripe nose hints at stone fruit compote, vanilla and oak spice. Concentrated and sweet, with brisk acids giving the wine shape. Finishes with excellent length and freshness. Morey harvests these small-berried, degenerating vines very early to preserve acidity and to avoid making a heavy style of wine. He told me that the hint of caramel on the finish is from the soil, not from the wine's oak element, and that the yield here was barely 40 hectoliters per hectare. (Sep/Oct 2003)"
