90-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Last year of significant production, as production will drop from 45 barrels in 2022 to 8 in ‘23. Now much less oak, max 15% and much more whole bunch, one third. A fine bright crimson with a darker centre. A pure and delicious expression of pinot on the nose, just enough whole bunch to lift from the clay. Very juicy, even quite plummy on the palate, with just a little note of spice at the back. (Nov 2023)"
91 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "I love Alex Moreau’s Chassagne rouge bottlings and his 2022 Vieilles Vignes is another serious wine in the making. The bouquet is deep, pure and youthfully complex, wafting from the glass in a mix of dark berries, black cherries, bonfire, gamebird, a fine bae of dark soil, sweet stem tones and a touch of cedary oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, black fruity and promising, with a superb core of fruit, fine soil signature, firm, chewy tannins and a long, well-balanced, young and promising finish. This will need plenty of time to blossom. 2038-2075. (Mar/Apr 2025)"
