The blend is a classic 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, and the wine was fermented and aged in 100% new oak, the entire blend made by micro-vinification. It was eventually bottled in June 2018. It kicks off with a very fragrant and perfumed nose, fresh and floral, with blackcurrant, coffee bean and peony-petal scents. There follows a very competent palate, fresh and bright, with dried-fruit concentration, the flavour profile touching on dried blackcurrants, olives and black beans, with a fresh and tightly grained tannic substance. All in all this is a full, substantial, charming and quite classically styled wine. A strong result, with real midpalate texture and elegance. (Dec 2018)"
