96 points Colin Hay (The Drinks Business): "(Mendoza; 100% Malbec; 15% alcohol). Less oaky than it used to be and so often is. Inky, dark, intense, with lots of cathedral spicing – incense, myrrh, candlewax. There’s a little vanilla and nutmeg, but it’s subtle. Very dark berry fruits. Violet and confit violet, pink rose petal too, but more on the palate at this stage. Glassy and glossy, succulent and sumptuous. The tannins are considerable on the finish, but they are fine-grained and this just needs a little more time."

94 points Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "(100% Malbec). Medium intensity ruby red, crushed rose petals, intense and concentrated, bitter black chocolate and cocoa bean, with high floral aromatics, peony and iris, great quality, high oak toasting, integrated but with bite. Henri Parent owner, Marcelo Pelleriti winemaker, 100% hand destemmed, old vines from a high altitude site at 1,200m in the Uco Valley. Wine is held back at the property until ready to drink - and you can certainly get going now with a good carafe. Alcohol 14.8%. Drink: 2027-2040. (7/7/25)"

94 points James Suckling: "Savory notes of dried herbs, blackberries, olives and walnuts. Some iodine, too. Medium-to full-bodied with lightly powdery tannins. Savory and fresh. Linear finish. Malbec with 9% cabernet franc. Drink or hold. (6/2/22)"

92 points Georgina Hindle (Decanter): "A toasted, milk chocolate and charred nose - you can smell the concentration straight away. Cinnamon, olive, salty shells, black chocolate, wild flowers and blackcurrants. This is intensely tannic and extremely oaky and spiced with a savoury core. Mouthwatering acidity stops this from being too heavy but it certainly packs a punch. Ageing 24-36 months in new French barrels followed by a lengthy time in bottle until it's deemed ready to drink. Owner Henri Parent, of La Violette in Pomerol, winemakers Marcelo Pelleriti and José Mounier. From a 4.06-hectare, old-vine, high-altitude estate in the Uco Valley. Drinking Window: 2027-2040. (7/7/25)"

Producer notes: "Deep red color with brilliant violet hues. The 2016 vintage was somewhat atypical for Mendoza, with cool and humid conditions during harvest months. This led to slower ripening and a delayed harvest, shaping a wine with a distinctive profile—very fruity and fresh, with subtle tertiary notes from the soft barrel toasting. On the palate, it shows round, smooth tannins that provide a silky, enveloping texture and make it suitable for extended aging, thanks to its medium body. Its aromatic expression on the finish is persistent and refined. The extended aging has endowed this wine with remarkable balance, finesse and harmony, making it a true benchmark of Argentine Malbe.
