94 points James Suckling: "This is a solid and structured red with plum and berry character. Some spice and cedar. Medium to full body, chewy and extremely pretty. A muscular red. Tight and reserved. Firm structure. Try it in 2020. (8/28/17)"
93+ points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The 2013 Baron'Ugo is 99% Sangiovese with just a speck of Colorino and Canaiolo for good measure. Fruit is sourced from vineyards located some 560 meters above sea level. The firmness of the fruit plus its bursting acidity is very evident. This is a fantastic vintage with great potential for future aging. The finish offers elegance and grace with linear structure and direct appeal. There's a pretty note of moist earth or savory cigar on the finish that adds a momentary interlude of softness. Drink: 2018-2028. (Apr 2017)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "Offers a maturing bouquet of sweet berry, cherry, leather, tea and spice flavors. Elegant yet intense, with a firm structure and a tangy finish. Drink now through 2029. 50 cases imported. (12/19/18)"
Producer notes: "A very pale color, which is more typical of French wines. Clear and bright, with hues verging on garnet-red. An intense bouquet of red fruity aromas of cherry and redcurrant, and of delicate floral notes of violet. Excellent on the palate, it is immediately clear that it has all the makings of a great wine, having the necessary elegance and finesse. Rich and lively with acidity, well-crafted tannins. To be enjoyed in the greatest vintages."
