92-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "40% was planted in 1930, 1998 40%, and 20% in the 1950s which makes for an average vine age of around 60, if my maths is right. There was little frost damage here, enabling a yield of 45 hl/ha. A solid mid yellow. The fruit is immediately attractive, actually a very classical Charmes, with a fine thread of acidity as well. Some tannins at the end. We are in the lower part, hence more massive in style. Drink from 2026-2032. (Oct 2022)"

92 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from Charmes Dessous, planted in 1930). Like the Poruzots, there is enough reduction to suppress the underlying fruit. There is slightly more refinement to the sleek and admirably concentrated medium-bodied flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the markedly compact, bone-dry and palate drenching finale that is even more tightly wound. Here too I would advise extending at least moderate patience. Drink: 2031+. (Jun 2023)"
