94 points/'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "[$165 list] This falls midway between the spectacular '08 and the elegant '07. Based on Cabernet Sauvignon, its grapes were grown in St. Helena. The wine shows softly lush tannins and deep, complex flavors of red fruit, berry, licorice, cocoa and mineral that easily stand up to 100% new French oak. Don't open it until at least 2018, and it should develop for many years afterward. Alcohol 14.9%. (Aug 2012)"
93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2009 Profile bursts on the palate with an exciting array of black fruit, smoke, tar, licorice and grilled herbs. It is a big, muscular wine endowed with considerable depth and richness, but despite its obvious size, all of the elements are in harmony. This big boy will need some cellaring, but it is beautiful. Profile is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc. (Dec 2011)"

92 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Bright, dark ruby. An element of minerality lifts the aromas of dark berries, chocolate and mocha, with an emerging violet nuance adding class. Silky and rich but also delineated and brisk, with its element of minerality and harmonious acidity giving cut to the flavors of cassis, black cherry and licorice. The strong, rising finish is firmly tannic but not dry; in fact, this wine makes the tannins of the Cabernet Sauvignon seem a bit dry and clunky by comparison. A lovely blend, and built for continued slow evolution in bottle. (14.8% alcohol) Drink: 2020-2034. (Jul 2019)"
