97 points Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "(50% Sangiovese, 50% Merlot). Showing the characteristic generosity of Siepi, with red liquorice, blood orange, baked raspberries, concentrated and opulent, vivid ruby colour, delicious. A vintage with reduced yield after issues with flowering. 75% new oak for ageing. The Mazzei family of Siepi is currently on its 25th generation of winemakers, based at Castello di Fonterutoli in Castellina in Chianti, farmed organically since 2006, with Siepi from a 6ha site. Tasted twice. Alcohol 14.5%. Drink: 2026-2040. (7/7/25)"

97 points James Suckling: "Aromas of blackberries, black olives, lavender, violets and hints of oyster shells and iodine follow through to a medium body with fine, creamy tannins and a long and energetic finish. Linear and bright. Already showing nicely, but better in three or four years. (7/23/25)"

96 points Georgina Hindle (Decanter): "(50% Merlot, 50% Sangiovese). This single-vineyard blend of Sangiovese and Merlot offers bold, plummy black fruit scents with some menthol, spice, currants and chocolate. In the mouth it's poised, and vertical in shape. Plush black fruits and grilled herbs are accompanied by touches of spice and chocolate, and licks of iron and salt, with fine, chalky tannins and a silky mouthfeel. The minty acidity is persistent, leading into a long, delicate finish with some floral lift and just a hint of alcohol. Classy stuff. Drinking Window: 2026-2035. (Jul 2025)"
