96 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "Although this wine has Burgundian textural complexity, it is not the least Burgundian in aromas. Pronounced honeycomb and super-ripe yellow apple aromas, underlined by generous tannins and leesy complexity. Very long, dense and salty finish that is delicately creamy. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. (5/14/25)"
Producer notes: "A field blend of Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Beurot. Overlooking Sigolsheim, the Mambourg hillside is the earliest to ripen. Its reputation dates back to the Middle Ages, when it belonged to the monasteries and feudal lords that made it noble. The particular geology of the hillside, deriving from Oligocene limestone of the Quaternary age, makes Mambourg unique, with consistent tannic power and a suave roundness. The wine is always perfectly dry, and is sometimes exaggeratedly powerful and extremely complex. Vine density is greater than in all of Deiss' other parcels."
