96 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Malescot St. Exupéry is quite possibly the most elegant wine I have tasted here. Plush and radiant, the 2019 possesses notable depth with plenty of supporting structure beneath surprisingly tamed tannins. Gravel, dark red cherry/plum, spice, leather and dried flowers build over time. The 2019 is a magical wine endowed with tremendous character. Don't miss it. Drink: 2029-2049. (Feb 2022)"
96 points James Suckling: "Sweet currant and berry aromas with hints of blackcurrants, black cherries and flowers. It’s full-bodied and layered with beautifully polished tannins that last for minutes. Tight and very focused. This needs at least six or seven years to open. Try after 2027. (1/16/22)"
96 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "Lush, rich and silky, the wine is deep, dark and intense, with silky tannins, freshness, and layers of opulent, refined, elegant dark red fruits. The combination of velvety tannins, intensity and a plush finish hits the spot. If you can keep your hands off it for a decade or so, this is going to be an outstanding wine to enjoy for the following 2 decades after that. Drink from 2029-2055. (Mar 2022)"
96 points Peter Moser (Falstaff): "Dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Delicately leafy black forest berries, liquorice, orange zest, candied tangerine peel. Complex, juicy and fresh, fine nougat, powerful, ripe tannins, firm, well adhering, has length and development, certain ageing potential. (2/23/22)"
96 points La Revue du Vin de France: "There is a Malescot style, a skillful combination of suave fruit, fine oak, and above all, velvety tannins. With its expressive nose of red fruit, the 2019 vintage is already irresistible. The palate is harmonious, slender, and very persistent, with those famous very fine tannins. (2023)"
94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2019 Malescot St. Exupery is generous and expressive, bursting with aromas of cassis, cherries and blackberries mingled with hints of loamy soil, dark chocolate and espresso roast. Full-bodied, broad and muscular, its fleshy core of fruit is framed by succulent acids and ripe, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish. This will reward a bit of bottle age with flamboyant drinking. Drink: 2027-2060. (Apr 2022)"
94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2019 Château Malescot Saint Exupéry has an almost old-school vibe in its cedary, herbal, meaty, almost gamey aromatics, but it has beautiful purity in its both black and blue fruits. Medium to full-bodied, on the palate, it's nicely concentrated, has building tannins, good mid-palate density, and a great finish. I don't think it matches the 2016 and 2018, but it's a seriously good Margaux that already offers pleasure. It won't hit maturity for another 7-8 years but should have a lengthy drinking plateau. Drink starting 2029. (4/11/22)"
94 points Georgina Hindle (Decanter): " Bramble fruit and hedgerow on the nose, this is lovely, succulent and juicy full of blue fruits - blueberries and freshly crushed mint leaves. I love the interplay between herbal and fruit aspects with gentle tannins that support but really the emphasis here is on the mint-tinged fruit from start to finish. Tannins are abundant not doubt so best to wait a few years to open but this has excellent freshness that is so appealing. Drinking Window: 2024-2035. (1/5/22)"
94 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "The 2019 Malescot St. Exupery has a deep garnet-purple color. It is a little broody and subdued to start, opening out to notes of tar, fragrant earth, and crushed rocks, over a core of fresh blackcurrants and stewed plums. The medium-bodied palate has lovely tension and ripe, grainy tannins supporting the youthful, muscular fruit, finishing earthy. Alcohol 14%. Drink: 2024-2042. (5/1/23)"
