95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Firm and full deep purple. Quite a firm bouquet though giving the impression that there is a lot to discover. Violets as well as dark red fruit. Rather gorgeous on the palate. It is not too powerful but has a very precise register of detailed fruit, alpine strawberries, as well as the floral touch. The oak is well integrated and this is extremely persistent. Drink from 2030. (Sep 2022)"

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers has turned out very well. Unwinding in the glass with notes of rose petals, peonies, red berries, orange rind and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with fine concentration and lively acids. Magnien produced 25 barrels out of the maximum of 32 authorized from his 1.47-hectare parcel. (Feb 2020)"

92-93 points Fine Wine Review: "Dense, dark fruits, smooth texture, round, good expression of Cazetiers. (5/31/20)"

'Outstanding'/90-93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a large 1.47 ha holding with vines that run from the bottom to the top of the vineyard). Ripe and fresh liqueur-like aromas speak of plum, black cherry, the sauvage and a hint of mentholated cherry cough. The seductively textured but impressively powerful larger-scaled flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract that also serves to buffer the very firmly structured and balanced finish. This is muscular and serious and will require patience if you wish to see it at its peak. Drink: 2030+. (Jan 2020)"

92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru has a restrained bouquet with cranberry, raspberry and wild strawberry fruit. Just a touch of reduction hems everything in at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. Lovely balance and purity, fine backbone, quite chalky in texture towards the finish - this is a great Gevrey Premier Cru. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting. Drink: 2024-2044. (Nov 2022)"
