Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "Axelle on 2023: 'We also started this vintage with poor weather – it was the end of the growing season that got us over the line though still with much triage to do. The fermentations were a little laborious too – but despite all those things we are so happy with the wines – I think that they are more complex than in 2022 too. 22s are direct and pure but a little compact, I think that my 23s have a bit more interest at the same stage – they are more poetic.' Poetic indeed. Delicious wines and a couple of great wines for their villages labels. Worth a special search !!
