91 points PeñÃn Guide: "(100% palomino). Colour: bright straw. Nose: powerfull, complex, white flowers, pungent. Palate: long, fine bitter notes, good acidity. (2013)"
****/Highly Recommended, F. Paul Pacult (Spirit Journal): "Oyster/ecru/tarnished silver color; ideal clarity. Opening inhalations offer deep bread dough (rye), caraway seed, and black pepper notes that delight the senses immediately with their directness; further air contact sees the pepperiness diminish and the rye bread accelerate, also the seediness, meaning caraway and sesame. Entry is mineral dry and yeasty, but with more substance than many Finos; midpalate firm, salty dry, and peppery once again. Head and shoulders above most other Finos in terms of core substance. (Dec 2009)"
Wine Enthusiast: "More yellow than Lustau's manzanilla, Jarana is a lovely, proper fino with a nose of iodine, lemon blossom and popcorn. The palate is staunch and doesn't back down; the high-toned nut and citrus flavors seem classic and elevated. And the finish is intense and frames everything in walnut oil and toast. (Jun 2009)"
'Silver Medal,' Decanter: "(15% alcohol) Layered aromas of fresh apple and bread balanced on the tangy palate with a clean and refreshing finish. (Oct 2010)"
Producer notes: "Dry, but full wine coming from the Lustau bodegas in Jerez de la Frontera; elegant, but rich to taste. The richness is balanced by its crisp, flor character to give a lingering aftertaste. Awarded Silver Medal at IWC 2006. Drink as an apéritif or as a wine with food; particularly good with seafood. Serve chilled. Alcohol:15.5% by volume. Grape Variety: Palomino Fino."
