2023 not yet reviewed. 2022 received 91 points from Stephen Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "From the coolish Zeiskam Klostergarten (loamy sand soils) and vinified in a 70-year-old Mosel fuder with the malolactic included, the 2022 Riesling Zimkaes opens with an intense yet pure and fresh, very elegant and calcareous nose that could be from a Pinot as well. Lush and round on the off-dry palate, this is a fruity, playful, refined and elegant Riesling that is in fact a bit Moselle in style, rather than from Luxembourg, where limestone soils dominate the terroirs. Now, about six months after bottling, this medium-bodied, supple and mouth-filling Riesling reveals remarkable substance, grip and mineral vitality, which is surprising given that extraordinarily dry and sunny year. The Mosel fuder seems to be the perfect bin for this style of Riesling that combines Mosel charm and lightness with limestone texture and tension. 11.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in June and again in December 2023. Drink 2024-2036 (Dec 2023)"
