93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Lorenzon's 2017 Mercurey 1er Cru Champs Martin Rouge was showing especially well, offering up a pretty bouquet of raspberries, plums, potpourri, licorice and a stable hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with a broad-shouldered frame of powdery tannin, ripe acids and a long, sapid finish. Vinified with two-thirds whole cluster, its effortlessness marks it out as one of the finest renditions of this cuvée that I've tasted. Drink: 2021-2037. (7/31/19)"

92 points Ulrich Sautter (Falstaff): "Some roasted hazelnut on the nose, citric and slightly floral notes. Linear on the palate, softly grounded, firm but integrated acidity, and a quite pointedly mineral, compact finish. Needs another two or three years of bottle ageing (preferably more). And will blossom into gastronomic versatility. (4/22/20)"

91 points (15.5/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "Champs Martin is scintillating and pure, its flesh corseted by a very present woody thread: a wine ready to defy time. (2020)"
