96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru has a slight mustiness on the nose at first, clarifying to a degree with aeration. Light peppermint scents emerge and perhaps slightly detract from its terroir. There's more yellow fruit here. The palate is well-balanced with a tangy opening, fresh and vibrant. This is a livewire Les Pucelles in the best sense, with plenty of sapidity towards the finish. This is a well-crafted Les Pucelles that is surfeit with energy. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. Drink: 2025-2048. (Jul 2024)"

93-96 points/'Sweet Spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from two very large parcels of vines totaling over 3 ha). Prominent notes of honeysuckle, Granny Smith apples, spice and a plenitude of spice elements are similarly wonderfully fresh and bright. The rich, delicious and succulent medium-bodied flavors also possess a highly sophisticated mouthfeel along with ample punch on the finely detailed, focused and hugely long finish. This too is a wine of class and grace that should age effortlessly over the next 12 to 15 years. A stunner of a Pucelles. Drink: 2032+. (Jun 2022)"

95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Just a little bit of coconut on the nose, but plenty of fruit behind the oak. The acidity is quite pronounced and the oak dominates the finish for now, but there is no sense of the fruit drying out, so this may just be painfully young. With time this could become sensational. (May 2024)"

95 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$853 list] A smooth white, bordering on creamy but with bright acidity, featuring lemon cake, apple tart, mineral, vanilla and clove flavors. Features a fillip of bitterness, like grapefruit peel, on the spicy finish. Youthful and exuberant. Best from 2025 through 2032. 985 cases made, 197 cases imported. (6/30/23)"

94-95 points/'Very Fine+,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Pucelles is a real step up in quality and refinement. Extremely delicate, it’s also more precise, giving it the legendary Leflaive Pucelles feeling. It lacks the power of the Montrachet hill, but nevertheless has more than enough oomph to get this mineral beauty airborne. It’s so sensual, and I for one am looking forward to following it on its way toward maturity. I adore this. Drink from 2035. (4/15/22)"

94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles unwinds in the glass with aromas of pear, peach and green apple mingled with white flowers, freshly baked bread and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a layered, charming mid-palate and a precise finish, it's a charming, seamless wine in the making. Drink: 2025-2050. (Jan 2023)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "This nose is airy but less ready. Like the nose, this has an airy, fluid, mouth-filling style but without density. Wow wine! – Don’t come here for density, come here for engagement… (Feb 2022)"
