98 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Clear bright mid yellow colour. The bouquet is full of energy, with floral notes on top of a powerful fruit. A little infiltration of tangerine notes, but this is a complete and well constructed Chevalier with very good length. This goes on building in the glass to reach a crystalline and powerful finish. (Jul 2021)"

97 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2017 Chevalier-Montrachet chez Leflaive is an absolute classic in the making. The beautiful bouquet wafts from the glass in a refined constellation of pear, apple, crème patissière, kaleidoscopic, limestone minerality, a touch of fresh almond, a sense of salinity and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and still fairly youthful, with a great core, magical backend mineral drive, impressive complexity and grip and a very, very long, zesty and laser-like finish. Stunning juice. 2027-2075. (Nov/Dec 2018)"

97 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has a clean, precise bouquet, fresh, taut and understated compared to its peers, perhaps the most elegant of an octet of Chevaliers tasted blind. The well-balanced palate delivers real power, offering flavors of candied orange peel and spices and a fine saline undercurrent. Harmonious, elegant yet intense, this should age with style and panache. It vies with Olivier Leflaive's own Chevalier for supremacy, and juxtaposing them blind, it has its nose in front. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune. Drink: 2025-2060. (Aug 2021)"

97 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Leflaive owns a comparatively large 1.8ha in Chevalier, running from the bottom to the top of the grand cru, so it's normally made in two separate lots. The oak needs a little more time to integrate, but this is another stellar performance by the legendary domaine. It's saline and elegant yet with understated richness and concentration - a world-class wine from a world-class vineyard. Drinking Window: 2022-2032. (Oct 2018)"

95-97 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2017 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru delivers a vibrant but reserved bouquet of lemon zest, white flowers and crushed chalk that is still some distance from displaying all its breadth of expression. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and tensile, with a tight-knit core, searingly intense chalky extract and an electric sense of energy, concluding with a long finish. This is the most linear Chevaliers I tasted in the 2017 vintage, which was typically somewhat more open at the same stage in Anne-Claude's day, so it will be interesting to see how much plenitude it displays in bottle. (Jan 2019)"

93-96 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "An all-but mute if cool and elegant nose only grudgingly reveals its aromas of wet stone, white flowers, tangerine peel and jasmine tea. There is almost painful intensity to the larger-scaled yet refined flavors that brim with both dry extract and a driving minerality before concluding in an equally long finish. This too is very clearly built-to-age and is a superb Chevalier that is going to require extended patience. Drink: 2032+. (Jun 2019)"
