97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Cassis, blackcurrants, smoky tobacco, and scorched earth notes all emerge from the 2022 Château Latour-Martillac, a remarkably pure, medium to full-bodied Pessac-Léognan that has a great mid-palate, pure, polished tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. Based on 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, and the balance Petit Verdot, it's a brilliant 2022 that should be snatched up by readers. Drink: 2025-2055. (2/27/25)"

95 points/'Top 10 Value Bordeaux 2022,' Zekun Shuai (JamesSuckling.com): "An attractive Latour-Martillac showing ripe black cherries, dark plums and touches of cigar and fine spices. An underlying mineral twist makes it even more interesting. Juicy and ripe but fresh, with a medium to full body and a matrix of fine, firm tannins beneath the fruit, which shows good fleshiness. Beautifully balanced and long. Drink from 2027. (1/7/25)"

95 points/'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "The wine's white fruit and toast aroma ie echoed by the spice and sliced apple flavor from the hot, dry year. Ripe, with a hint of honey to set against the citrus acidity, the wine is a classic from this classed growth estate. Drink from 2026. Alcohol 13.5%. (May 2025)"

93-95 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Latour-Martillac Rouge swans out with showy scents of Morello cherries, blackcurrant cordial, and mulberries, leading to hints of lilacs and Sichuan pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate has a firm backbone of ripe, grainy tannins with seamless freshness to support the bright fruit, finishing long and fragrant. Drink: 2026-2042. (5/14/23)"

94 points Wine Spectator: "A youthfully compact style, with its core of red and black currant preserves sitting behind a mix of warm tar, alder and chestnut. Dark tobacco and leather notes stretch out on the finish and add a textural element, while the fruit keeps pace. Solid. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2027 through 2040. (1/22/25)"

94 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "Smoke, burning wood, cigar box, licorice, blackberries, and black cherries open the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is refined, elegant, lush, and packed with layers of sweet, ripe dark, red fruits, dipped in chocolate. There is lift, and energy here, allowing all of that fruit to shine, and linger. Drink from 2027-2042. (Mar 2025)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): “The 2022 Latour-Martillac is s powerful, brooding wine, just as it was en primeur. A blast of dark red fruit, leather, spice, dried herbs and licorice are all delineated in the glass. The 2022 packs a pretty intense punch. A few years in bottle will help to some degree. Drink: 2027-2042. (Jan 2025)"

93 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "The 2022 from Latour-Martillac is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon with 42% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot. This has produced a nose of sweet and primary berry fruits, with dried cranberry and blackcurrant, swirled with rose petals, violets and crushed chalk, as well as a bright and peppery energy. This very pure and floral style is transmitted faithfully onto the palate, which displays a full yet finely polished texture, showing an easy-going and relaxed harmony, with the fragrant and perfumed fruit from the nose, wrapped in honeyed oak as well as multiple ribbons of peppery tannin. A very fine Latour-Martillac here which will surely repay keeping;with all this grip, which lingers long and confident in the length, give it a decade at least. Tasted twice. The alcohol on the label is 14.5%. (Dec 2024)"

93 points Peter Moser (Falstaff): "Deep dark ruby garnet colour with opaque core and purple reflections, delicate brightening on the rim. Subtle noble oak savouriness, blackberries, black cherries, inviting bouquet. Juicy, elegant, heart cherries, good freshness, mineral and balanced, a fine, versatile food wine. (5/11/23)"
