Pungent aromas of wood, reduction and a hint of phenolic character render the nose unreadable today. More interesting are the dense, powerful and almost painfully intense larger-scaled flavors that also soak the palate with sappy dry extract that does an excellent job of buffering the firm acid spine shaping the bone-dry, moderately austere and impressively long finale. Some fresh lime notes provide the energy, while the body of clean white stone fruit is the main course. Too much body just to be called racy. I don’t think this will take an enormous amount of time to come round, but all is there. Drink from 2026-2033. (Nov 2022)"
