94 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "In the glass this displays a dark and glossy hue, which leads to a complex nose filled with toasted blackberry, liquorice, black olive and vanilla pod, along with some floral elements reminiscent of dried violets, as well as a suggestion of cool crushed chalk. Beautifully poised on the palate, this is very finely textured, bordering on silky, the texture supporting layers of dark fruits, blackberry, olive and currant. It is packed out with ripe and tightly grained tannins which come to prominence in the middle and especially at the end. It is spicy too, certainly energetic, with a thread of pepper, long and charged. This is an exciting wine now, but I think the real joy lies a few years away yet. Give it five more, maybe a few more, to see it at its best The declared alcohol is 14.5%. (Aug 2021)"

93 points Decanter: "Crisp blackcurrant and vegetal notes with oak evident on the nose. Plump fruit, with subtly enticing flavours of bruised plum and damson. The palate is rich and exuberant, showcasing lively fruit with a hint of salinity and persistent freshness. Drinking Window: 2024-2036. (Oct 2024)"

93 points International Wine Report: "[$75 list] The 2015 Château Lassègue Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is an excellent release, which showcases a lovely combination of ripe fruit and terroir driven character. It immediately grabs your attention as it offers a gorgeous nose of ripe blackberries and dark cherries which come together with loam, charcoal, spices, dried violets, graphite and stony minerals which all take shape beautifully. On the palate this possesses a medium-full body with big velvety tannins and a wonderful opulent texture. It goes on to display fantastic balance through the long finish that leaves behind flavors of dark cherries, minerals and bitter dark chocolate lingering. Pierre Seillan crafted this wine from 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon which was sourced from 50-60 year-old vines. This certainly has the potential to evolve in the cellar for another decade to two. Drink: 2021-2038. (Feb 2019)"
