96 points/'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "This is a powerful wine, with wood aging that adds richness to the dense tannins. Some tough extraction has not detracted from the ripe fruit or structure and will go as the wine matures. It should be ready to drink from 2026. Alcohol 13.5%. (Feb 2018)"

95 points James Suckling: "Immediate depth to the aromas of dark cherries, plums and blackberries with subtly spicy and cedary oak amid stony, minerally accents. The palate has immense depth and presence without relying on brute force. This is all about charm and fluidity. Superb wine. Try from 2023. (2/1/18)"

94 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Lascombes has a beautiful nose of black forest cake, violets, cassis and tilled soil with wafts of garrigue and potpourri. Medium-bodied, very fine and elegant with great intensity of restrained, earthy flavors, it has a long, savory finish. Drink: 2021-2039. (Feb 2018)"

94 points Jane Anson (Decanter): "An excellent Lascombes in 2015. The fruit has tightened up and slowed down, with great depth to the finely grained tannic structure. Deep liquorice, damson, cassis and loganberry flavours are well balanced against the grilled oak notes and silky texture. Confident and poised. 70% new oak. Drinking Window: 2025-2040. (11/2/17)"

94 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "Dark in color the wine is deep in color, the fruits are dark, there is flesh, sweetness and oak, but the texture is voluptuous, and with all that ripe fruit, everything works, coming together nicely. (May 2018)"

94 points Lisa Perrotti Brown (The Wine Independent): "Lascombes 2015 is medium to deep garnet in color. It is a little broody to start, opening out to deliver notes of warm cassis, black cherry compote, and fruit cake plus hints of charcoal and violets. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is filled with juicy black fruits, supported by fine-grained tannins and just enough freshness, with a fragrant finish. Alcohol 14%. Drink: 2023-2039. (11/17/22)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Powerful, deep and flamboyant, the 2015 Lascombes is one of the most overt, concentrated wines readers will find in Margaux. Inky blue/purplish fruit, chocolate, spice, lavender and new leather are all super-concentrated. Even with all of its obvious fruit intensity, the 2015 has a good bit of supporting structure as well. There is no question Lascombes is a technically well-made wine. But I always fine myself wondering if this site has more to say than what comes through in this delicious, but somewhat anonymous, Margaux. Tasted two times. Drink: 2021-2035. (Feb 2018)"

93 points Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "(50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot). This is one to look out for, with softly extracted brambled fruits, traces of crème de cassis heat from the vintage conditions balanced by mandarin peel, pomegranate, lemongrass even, slate texture, very impressive 2015, with the joyful character that you expect from Lascombes. Maceration heads up to 40 days at this point, and the tannins and grilled sandalwood swamp the fruit a little, but there is plenty to enjoy here. 70% new oak, 42hl/h yield, havest September 17 to October 15. Alcohol 14%. Drink: 2024-2044. (10/31/23)"

93 points (16.5/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "2015 is in the same vein, with even more volume. It should develop well. (2019)"

92 points Wine Spectator: "Enticing, with a light mulled spice note moving amid the red and black currant fruit, while flashes of bramble, alder, juniper and tobacco skitter through. Reserved but lengthy in feel through the finish, with latent grip and a smoldering tobacco detail. Best from 2030 through 2032. (3/31/18)"

92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "[$85 list] A big, bombastic wine from this estate that offers serious amounts of sweet currants, blackberry jam, licorice and oak, the 2015 Château Lascombes has beautiful depth of fruit, a thick, opulent texture and sweet. It’s not going to appeal to the traditionalist out there, but it’s a smokin’ good bottle of wine. Give it 3-4 years and enjoy over the following two decades. Drink: 2022-2046. (11/30/17)"
