97 points Anne Krebiehl (Falstaff): "Subtle smoke, aromatic red cherry and wonderfully fragrant lift make for an elegant opening. The palate falls into place with finest, firm and still drying tannin and superb freshness. This resonates and echoes with cherry and aroma. Simply wonderful.(1/25/22)"

95-97 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru is beautiful on the nose with harmonious, very pure dark cherries, violet and peony, blackcurrants and touches of rosemary. You could just inhale this all day. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins, fine acidity, taut and fresh with just the right amount of spice towards the finish. So much energy here, this will be difficult to resist in its youth. Drink: 2026-2055. (Dec 2021)"

93-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Just over 14% alcohol. 90% whole bunch. Rich deep black purple with purple rim. A heady and luscious dark fruited bouquet. There are just a few peach notes, as the fruit has got fully ripe here. Again the high acidity sticks out. Will this wine ever be perfectly balanced? Maybe, because of the fresher finish. Pretty good intensity and concentration with a long finish. (Dec 2021)"

95 points Tim Atkin, MW: "Separated from La Romanée-Conti by only a small road, this is primo Grand Cru territory, even if de l'Arlot's plot is only a quarter-hectare. The vines are about 40 years old, and Géraldine used a generous 90% whole cluster here. They give a woodsy tension to the wine now, but this should integrate in time into the multi-dimensional palate that flourishes with ripe red fruits and tapers slowly into its finish. 2025-38. (2022)"

92-95 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .25 ha parcel that was planted in 1973 - an average vintage produces 3 barrels). An exuberantly floral and spice-suffused nose speaks mostly of black cherry and raspberry notes trimmed in soft wood. The notably finer medium weight flavors possess excellent verve and precision and particularly so on the moderately austere and hugely long finish that is even more structured than the Clos des Forêts. Impressive but patience suggested. Drink: 2035+. (Jan 2022)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(From 24 rows of vines that face Romanée-Conti and run only half-way to the village). Directly a more elgant and open width of aromatic complexity – a floral component only adds the attraction. Direct and silky like the first Nuits – but here is much more behind: Intensity, minerality and florality. Slowly mouth-watering with extra complexity too. A more sophisticated package than the ‘Forets’ not much less concentration but a more balanced concentration. Excellent – even for RSV! (Dec 2021)"
