94 points Jane Anson (Decanter): "Warm years make a huge difference to soils that have a tendency to be austere like those of Larcis, while providing the natural break of over-ripeness that can happen in richer soils. Again, it’s the concentration of flavours that is most apparent at first with tight, black pepper spice and cured leather notes alongside cassis puree. It’s pretty subtle actually, you have to stop and let the flavours steal up on you, and there are slight hints of green pepper and menthol, even in this hot year. Very good, laden with spice. 55% new oak was used. Drinking Window: 2019-2034. (9/20/19)"

92 points La Revue du Vin de France (Jan 2003).

90 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Clearly fully mature and, I suspect, slightly past its prime, the 1990 Château Larcis Ducasse is nevertheless a satisfying Saint-Emilion offering a garnet hue as well as mature red and black fruits interwoven with plenty of spice, leather, and dried herb-like aromatics. Medium-bodied and supple, with its tannins completely resolved on the palate, this regal old gal isn't getting any better, but it sure offers a delicious, enjoyable drinking experience. (3/7/24)"
