93 points Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "(54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot). 45ha on the outskirts of St Julien, making some of the best value wines on the Médoc peninsula. This is a great 2019, really one to look out for, good value and full of blackberry and black cherry fruits, polished with muscular frame, can easily last another decade or more. Eric Boissenot consultant. Last vintage under Paz Espejo, with new director Pierre Delage overseeing the final stages of ageing and bottling. An upscore from En Primeur. Drink: 2025-2040. Alcohol 14%. (11/20/21)"

92 points James Suckling: "Fruity nose of ripe blackberries, currants, chocolate orange and oyster shell. It’s medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Balanced and fresh with some spicy and salty notes to close. Drink from 2023. (2/20/22)"

92 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "Bright, fresh and vivid, with smoke, dried flowers, spice, tobacco and cassis on the nose, the wine is full of ripe, sweet, red and black fruits, espresso and herbs on the palate that offer staying power that keeps on going, right through to the finish. This should age quite nicely. Drink from 2024-2037. (Mar 2022)"

91 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Lanessan is a powerful, deep wine. Grilled herbs, pepper, sage, mint and tobacco lend notable aromatic intensity. The Cabernet is especially marked here. Lanessan is pretty assertive in 2019. There is quite a bit of Cabernet savoriness and tannin. Drink: 2024-2034. (Feb 2022)"

91 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "This is one of those under-the-radar domaines that keeps Bordeaux drinkers, as opposed to label drinkers, happy. It has a dark hue, and a nose of beautifully ripe and gravelly Cabernet fruits, with damson and black olive notes, nuanced with slate, black pepper and sage. The palate holds it all together very nicely, with succulent dark fruits, a frame of ripe yet upright tannins, and a fresh sense of energy. This should evolve very nicely;come back in ten years is my suggestion. The declared alcohol is 14%. (Dec 2021)"

90 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2019 Lanessan continues to perform very well, wafting from the glass with aromas of sweet berries, licorice and fresh tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with rich, powdery tannins and a vibrant core of fruit, it's a fine effort from a property with immense potential. Drink: 2022-2045. (10/31/22)"

90 points Georgina Hindle (Decanter): "Lovely texture here, deep and intense but also smooth, with high-toned blackcurrant and black cherry. There's a pleasing chalky dryness to the tannins and an appealing minerality that comes through. Solid core, well presented but not hugely long. Drinking Window: 2022-2030. (Jan 2022)"
