91-93 points Chris Kissack (WineDoctor): "From 45 hectares of vines comes this blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. I sense notes of wild plum on the nose, with a chalky freshness, the wine showing a perfumed delicacy and freshness with scents of rose petals and tobacco-leaf perfume. The palate is pure, delicately poised, very elegant and silky, with notes of crushed red plum, cinnamon, red cherry stone and a rose garden perfume, all of which is wrapped up in a central core of fresh, polished and nicely judged tannins. Bright, vigorous, acid-fresh, but also elegant and silky, this is a barrel sample with some promise. (Apr 2019)"
92 points Jane Anson (Decanter): "I have enjoyed Lanessan over the last few years, and there's a lot to take note of here. It's a pretty serious take on the vintage with a strong architecture of cassis fruits, pencil lead and slate, more 2016 than 2015 in style. It should age well. Good value. Harvested 24 September to 16 October. Ageing is in 33% new oak. Drinking window 2024-2038 (Mar 2019)"
92 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "The 2018 Lanessan is deep garnet purple in color. It delivers notes of juicy black plums and crème de cassis, with touches of menthol, cumin seed, and dried roses. Medium-bodied, the palate has impressive intensity and firm, ripe tannins, leading to a refreshingly savory finish. Nice! Drink 2023-2035 (Feb 2023)"
91 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2018 Lanessan is a total delight. Medium in body, with terrific persistence, the 2018 is all class. Cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, mint, dried flowers and sweet red cherry all open with a bit of time in the glass. Lanessan is such a pretty and alluring Haut-Médoc. Drink 2022-2033 (Mar 2021)"
