92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Saint-Aubin Derrière Chez Edouard 1er Cru has a strict, focused, flinty bouquet with touches of sea cave and orange blossom. It is very discrete. The palate is stony, quite malic and taut on the entry, with hints of Granny Smith and pear leading to a lightly spiced, persistent finish. This is classy and distinct. Drink: 2026-2042. (Jan 2025)"
92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Dating back to 1960, reds planted on a white soil, in a relatively cool setting. Medium dense ruby. The bouquet is more like the Hâtes than the Concis. Perhaps a little denser. A fresher raspberry and redcurrant style of fruit, built on a fruit-acid balance with fewer tannins. I like the way the fruit seems to refine at the back of the palate. Drink from 2027-2035. Tasted Nov 2024."
90-91 points/'Very Good,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "Moving up to Saint-Aubin Derriére Chez Edouard a more robust terroir offering more deep intense minerality. The bouquet offers lovely fresh reddish fruit brought forward by a quite vivid acidity. On the palate, we find a lovely balance. Another kind of Saint-Aubin … but I love it … salmon with a tartar sauce perhaps. Drink from 2031. (1/15/25)"
