93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2018 Saint-Aubin Clos de Chatenière 1er Cru has exquisite delineation on the nose: wonderful focus and palpable sense of energy and tension. The terroir floods through here. The palate is very well balanced, with razor-sharp acidity, just a mote of reduction. Very good weight with a mineral driven finish that has wonderful sapidity. This is an extremely classy Saint-Aubin. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting. Drink: 2023-2040. (Nov 2022)"

93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Bursting with aromas of orange oil, green apple, toasted bread and white flowers, the 2018 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Clos de la Chatenière is medium to full-bodied, with a rounder, fleshier profile than the Derrière Chez Edouard, but similarly tensile and mineral in underlying structure. Long and penetrating, this is built to age. Drink: 2025-2050. (1/14/21)"

93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A pretty and pale colour, with well-integrated oak alongside the fruit on the nose. This is particularly youthful with a great deal more still to develop. Oak, fruit and acidity all in harmony. Definitely one for the future. DIAM30 closure. (May 2022)"

92.9 points CellarTracker.com community score.

91-93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Clos de la Chatenière bursts with aromas of waxy citrus rind, yellow orchard fruit, clear honey and wheat toast. Medium to full-bodied, round and textural, it's layered and enveloping, with fine concentration and a long, saline finish. Lamy notes that his old vines in this lieu-dit (which is warmer than, for example, Derrière chez Edouard) tend to produce lots of small, shot berries. (Feb 2020)"

91-93 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Planted 1964. Brisk primrose colour. A little gunflint reduction. A beautifully balanced juicy white fruit with plenty of flesh at the back. This is not one of the ultra-tense cuvées, more a question of generosity of fruit backed by a totally correct acidity. In harmony. (Oct 2019)"

92 points Tim Atkin, MW.

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(South-facing and warm here. 60-year-old vines always with small grapes.) Starts tight but this wine opens with swirling – a classic bowl of agrume is the resulting aroma. Fresh though calmer than Eduard! Full, more obvious concentration, a flavour that stains the palate more, here just a hint of oak – but it will be transient! Great wine potentially. (12/19/19)"
