93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Pale lemon colour, a whiff of oak, a nice sunny touch to this wine, well balanced, an extra layer of fruit on the palate, just a tickle of minerality behind. About 20% down in yield here, demonstrating Olivier’s theory that this level of production constitutes the sweet spot for the vintage. (Jan 2018)"

93 points (16.5/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "Clos de la Chatenière smells of fresh almonds. The palate displays magnificent energy, carried by pure, full-bodied fruit, finishing on yellow grapefruit. A beautiful, racy wine with substance. (Jan 2020)"

92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2016 Saint-Aubin Clos de la Chatenière 1er Cru has a lovely generous bouquet with beeswax and honeysuckle, light apricot aromas and a faint smear of vanilla. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, beautifully balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and linear towards the finish with a citric bite that urges you back for another sip. What a great white Burgundy from Olivier Lamy. Drink: 2020-2030. (Oct 2019)"

90-92 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(worked entirely by hand as the vineyard has a 40% slope which ensures that it receives plenty of sun). An admirably pure and cool array exhibits distilled notes of green apple, citrus and white floral nuances. There is good mid-palate density to the rich and relatively round flavors that exude both salinity and minerality on the long if ever-so-slightly less complex finale. Drink: 2022+. (Jun 2018)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2016 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Clos de la Chatenière, which originates from a parcel with a more southerly exposure compared to others farmed by Olivier Lamy, has a clean and precise bouquet with white peach, orange pith and subtle aniseed scents. The palate is very well balanced with more depth and fruit intensity than the Les Frionnes, touches of tangerine and white peach laced with bitter lemon, leading to a harmonious and quite long finish. Excellent. Drink: 2019-2029. (12/29/17)"

91+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2016 Clos de la Chatenière from Domaine Lamy is also a lovely wine, but it is more open and ready to go out of the blocks than the last couple of premier crus in the tasting. The bouquet delivers a fine blend of apple, tangerine, chalk, fresh almond, vanillin oak and acacia blossoms in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full, succulent and very nicely balanced, with a good core and a long, complex and zesty finish. This will be the premier cru in the cellars this year to drink first. 2018-2035. (Mar/Apr 2018)"

91 points Tim Atkin, MW (2018).

90.9 points CellarTracker.com community score.

90 points William Kelley (Decanter): "The Clos de la Chatenière is a more concentrated, textural wine than the Frionnes, with a bouquet of apple, pear and dried white flowers, and a glossy, deep and sapid palate impression underpinned by succulent acids. Drinking Window: 2020-2030. (10/19/17)"
