92-94 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a parcel measuring 7ouvrées, or around .3 ha of 40+ year old vines). An intensely spicy and strikingly fresh red and blue pinot fruit nose enjoys added breadth in the form of plum, earth and wet stone nuances. There is excellent detail and plenty of punch to the medium-bodied flavors that are brimming with a cool minerality, all wrapped in a balanced, linear and hugely persistent finish. This too is just terrific but be prepared to be patient. Drink: 2023+. (Apr 2013)"

92-94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Good medium bright red. Aromas of black cherry and licorice. Juicy, pure and intense but a bit youthfully streamlined today, showing terrific purity and penetration to its dark fruit, spice and stony mineral flavors. Lovely sappy, refined Volnay with terrific cut. Really dances on the palate on the long, vibrant, weightless finish. (Jan/Feb 2013)"

93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Caillerets can often be a bit cantankerous in its youth, but the inherent elegance of the 2011 vintage has produced a very, very suave young example of this great premier cru chez Lafarge! The superb nose wafts from the glass in a blend of red and black cherries, strawberries, woodsmoke, a great base of stony soil tones, coffee and fresh herbs. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very elegant, with a lovely core of fruit, great soil drive on the backend, refined tannins and a very long, classy and youthful finish. This will be stellar. 2023-2060. (Nov/Dec 2012)"

92 points Stephen Brook (Decanter): "Robust cherry nose. Rich and suave, this is concentrated, a forceful and structured Volnay with grip and spice. It’s still youthful, with a tannic though not hard finish. Long, but it still needs time to harmonise. Biodynamic. Drinking Window: 2020-2035. (Dec 2018)"
