89-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A little pink tinge to the edge of the purple. This is exactly right. Concentrated ripe raspberry with perfect balancing acidity, a sense of having picked at the right time and, as Frédéric would (and did) say, showing the benefits of long term biodynamic culture. Very long finish indeed, extremely high class. (Oct 2021)"

90 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Domaine Lafarge always produces a very strong example of Bourgogne rouge and the 2020 will be no exception. The lovely nose wafts from the glass in a nicely detailed blend of red and black cherries, a touch of plum, gamebird, dark soil tones and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and nicely balanced, with a good core, moderate tannins and a long, focused finish. This will need a bit of time in the cellar, but that is true of virtually every vintage of this lovely bottling. 2025-2045. (Nov/Dec 2021)"

'Outstanding/Top value,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from 40+ year old vines in Petit Pré which was once classified as Volnay villages). This is also wonderfully fresh with its cool and pretty aromas of essence of red pinot fruit, spice and a more subtle suggestion of newly turned earth. There is a lovely sense of vibrancy to the delicious middle weight flavors that are shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins on the strikingly complex and lengthy finish. Like the Anthologie, it's rare to find this level of quality in a regional wine plus it should repay 5 to 8 years of keeping. Highly recommended. Drink: 2026+. (Apr 2022)"
